Doherty Design & Planning Limited

Household extension

Household extensionWorking for individual home owners is a large and important part of our business. It has been discovered over the years of business that there are many architects offering to design and progress household extension designs through the planning system. However, feedback from friends, family and clients has often concluded that many architectural consultants are limited in their communication skills and rarely take the time to really understand what it is the client is wanting to achieve.

We pride ourselves in giving this element of any project top priority and feel that our communication and listening skills ensure that each client is given the opportunity to discuss their wishes in detail. It is often the case that a client is not exactly sure of how to achieve their ultimate goals, but it is our job to gather the information and offer a variety of options and suitable solutions that are both practical, financially feasible and will meet the planning requirements.

New residential dwellings

ddp has, over the years of business, been commissioned to design many one off new residential dwellings. Some of which have been designed to meet the exact requirements of the client for their own personal habitation and others to suit the market demand and maximise the profitability of a site.

The focus has always remained on the needs and aspirations of the client and avoiding any major difficulties throughout the planning process. Larger residential schemeIn working on such projects we have demonstrated our ability to work along side other consultants, and take advice from other experts, as well as taking control of the process and co-ordinating when necessary.

Larger residential scheme

Marie Doherty, prior to starting up ddp, has spent over ten years working for housing developers such as Charles Church, Cala Homes and Devine Homes. Her role as an Architectural Technician, moving onto Planning Manager meant that she had a considerable involvement in designing and progressing larger schemes through the planning process. ddp is fortunate to have a number of larger housing developers as clients and can offer a very competitive yet still personal service to these developers when dealing with larger or medium sized developments.
